Dry Run Creek trout fishery is a very special place in the Ozarks set aside for and accessible to those under the age of 16 and disabled anglers. Adjacent to the National Trout Hatchery, only artificial lures are permitted at Dry Run Creek. The area is a catch and release fishery. All trout must be immediately returned to the creek.

The Gaston Visitor Center is an environmental education learning center and features interpretation of the river, dam and lake, and their histories.
