This dam was a monumental effort, built to tame the North Fork River and provide power, giving Norfork the distinction of being the first of the major dams built on the White River system. The Big One: Our annual Independence Eve Fireworks Show is legendary in the South. This isn’t a small town display; it’s a massive, spectacular show fired off right at the Twin Bridges area of the lake.
Best View in the House: Grab your spot! Thousands of boats raft up on the water, creating an electric atmosphere, but the show is also easily viewed from land at various points, campsites, and resorts. Norfork Pioneer Days (Spring): Step back in time and celebrate the rich history of the Ozarks at our annual Pioneer Days festival.
